Introduction to MIXED-MEDIA PHOTO COLLAGE with Phil Smith

Attend one of these HANDS – ON classes and learn how to present your photographs in a new way!
Phil will supply the basic materials and tools, YOU supply an original photograph or two or three (images MUST be on professional photographic paper, NOT plain printer paper). Bring some objects you might want to include in your finished art piece that are related to the image(s) or enhance the "feel" of your photos. These objects could include stamps, pins, beads, colored papers, small toys, book pages, fabric swatches... the ideas are endless!
You provide YOUR creative energy! If you would like to FRAME your new masterpiece, bring a shadowbox frame!!! (8” x 10” MAX and should be 1 ½" deep MINIMUM) If you have a "favorite" craft knife, bring it along as we will be cutting!
Each class will be limited to 8 participants and each two-hour session will be offered at $50 per participant per class. A MINIMUM of 4 participants must register two weeks prior to the scheduled date for the class to be held!

What you will learn in this iPhone Photography Course
By applying some basic principles of portrait photography during class, you will begin to shoot incredible photos using your iPhone or iPad that are worthy of framing. Additionally, you will be introduced to a variety of Portrait Camera and Editing apps that you can see in action before you decide to purchase them from the App Store. After taking this class you will easily take and edit a typical portrait shot into a more interesting and artistic photograph.
During this class you will be introduced to, and be provided time to shoot a variety of portraits such as: Traditional Portraits, Environmental Portraits, Candid Portraits, Lifestyle Portraits, and tips will be shared for taking Animal Portraits. Additionally, we will go off site for a "location shoot" to allow you to use a variety of backgrounds to make your portraits stand out!
Creating Artistic Photographs: Macro & Close Up Photography

Special Effects: Blending iPhone Photographs Course featuring Superimpose

Superimpose allows you to take two photographs and combine them into one image. The app provides a variety of tools for blending two photographs: you can change the background of an image, create a double exposure or add additional people into a photograph. We will also use the TouchRetouch app to help you quickly edit your human and animals images to make them easier to combine.

Workshop Overview
Create Plasma-cut and Welded pieces for your home as you learn the basics of MIG welding and plasma cutting. You will learn to use a brake, roller, planishing hammer, shear and other amazing tools as you put together your own projects. Images of student projects and class experience.
Plasma Cutting
Learning to slice through metal like Thor and let your creativity flow like plasma as you draw your own design into sheet metal. Come with your own ideas or make suggested projects like a sconce, flower, outdoor signage, butterfly, mask, or whimsical wall hanging.
MIG Welding
Practice running "beads" and bonding joints until comfortable and then put your skills to use making a flower, perhaps a collage of remnant metal scraps, and mounts for your other projects. Compare low and high-end welders.
Duration: 6-7+ hrs
Essentially, dependent on your attentions span. I won't let you go home with an incomplete project.
For larger projects, hourly workshop space rental is available, $32/hr.
Cost: $145
Includes insurance, all safety gear and many snacks. Bringing a lunch is recommended.
Two-Four Participant Limit
Maximize each person gets on the equipment, though there is plenty for all. Three participants by special request. Bring a friend!
